1.   ASCENSION OF THE LORD – THURSDAY, 9^TH MAY

It is a DAY OF OBLIGATION and the schedules for the Holy Masses are as follows:

     St. Joseph’s Cathedral :  7.00 a.m. in Mandarin and 5.45 p.m. in English

     Carmelite’s Chapel     :  6.15 a.m. in English

     Church of Mater Dei, Lutong :  6.30 a.m. in English and 7.30 p.m. in Iban

     St. Anthony of Padua’s Chapel, Tudan :  6.30 p.m. in Bahasa Malaysia

     St. Dominic’s Chapel, Taman Tunku :  7.30 p.m. in Bahasa Malaysia

     Permyjaya’s Chapel  :  8.00 p.m. in Bahasa Malaysia  

     Ave Maria’s Chapel, Lambir :  5.00 p.m. in Iban

2.  NOVENA  TO  THE  HOLY  SPIRIT

The 9-Nights Novena to the Holy Spirit will be held from 10th -18th May at 7.30 p.m. as follows: 

           St. Joseph’s Cathedral  :  in English

           St. Francis of Assisi’s Chapel  :  in Mandarin (7.00 p.m.)

           Church of Mater Dei, Lutong :  in Iban

           St. Anthony of Padua’s Chapel, Tudan :  in Bahasa Malaysia

           Permyjaya’s Chapel :  in Bahasa Malaysia

           St. Dominic’s Chapel, Taman Tunku  :  in Bahasa Malaysia

 All parishioners are urged to attend this Novena.  

•           Note :  Please be reminded – Holy Hour on Wednesday (15th May) and Novena to the Mother of Perpetual Help on Saturday, 18th May are CANCELLED.

  

3. KENYAH-KAYAN  MASS

    Venue :  Church of Mater Dei, Lutong        Date :  Sunday, 12th May       Time :  11.00 a.m.

All are welcomed.

4.  CONFIRMATION  MASS

Please be informed that the Mass at Church of Mater Dei, Lutong on Sunday, 19th May will be a Confirmation Mass where teenagers and adults will be confirmed. 

 

5.  CATHOLIC  TEACHERS

All Catholic teachers are invited to attend the cell group meeting on Sunday, 19th May from 2.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. at Maranatha Hall, Merdeka Mall organized by the Catholic Teachers Apostolate of Miri.  There will be a video viewing and a Question and Answer Session with Fr. Justin Dan followed by a God’s Choice Teacher’s Day Party. 

6.  CONFERENCE  FOR  MARRIED  COUPLES  ON 24^TH – 25^TH MAY

The registration will be opened after Mass today and please register early as there will be limited seats available.  The Organizing Committee would like to thank all individuals and groups who had assisted and contributed generously during last week Food Sales.   God bless you all.

7.  LIFE  IN  THE  HOLY  SPIRIT  SEMINAR  FOR  CHILDREN IN  BAHASA  MALAYSIA

A Life in the Spirit Seminar for children aged 11 – 13 years old (Primary 5, 6, and Form 1 students) will be held during the School holidays as follows :

     Venue :  St. Francis of Assisi’s Chapel – Seminary      Date :  25^th – 30^thMay   

     Registration Fee:  RM20.00     Date of Registration:  Saturday, 25th May      Time:  2.00 p.m.

FIFTH SUNDAY OF EASTER

1.   THE 2013  BISHOP’S  MESSAGE  is out and being distributed Today. Please take one for your family.

2. MOTHERS’ DAY DINNER

Venue :  Imperial Hotel Ballroom          Date :  Tuesday, 30th April

The Women’s Core Team would like to thank all donors, helpers and parishioners for their generous support of the event.    Let’s come together as a community of families to honor our mothers in this celebration.  Please be punctual and bring along your tickets for the Blessed Draws.

 3.   ST. JOSEPH  THE WORKER CUM LABOUR’S  DAY  -  WEDNESDAY, 1ST MAY

Let us come and give thanks to God for our daily work through the intercession of St. Joseph, Patron Saint of the workers.  The Holy Mass is as follows: 

St. Joseph’s Cathedral at 8.00 a.m.  and Carmelite’s Chapel at 6.15 a.m.

All are welcomed. There will be a fellowship breakfast after Holy Mass at St. Joseph’s Cathedral compound.  Please bring along a God’s choice dish to share.

4.  NATURAL  FAMILY  PLANNING  COURSE

This course is for those who will be getting married or married couples and will be held on Saturday, 4th May in Bahasa Malaysia at St. Joseph’s Multi Purpose Hall from 8.00 a.m.-1.30 p.m. and in Iban at St. Anthony’s Chapel, Pujut Corner from 8.00 a.m.-1.30 p.m.

Please register with the Parish Office (421455) few days before the course starts. 

 5. MEN’S  CONFERECNE  2013

Men's Conference 2013 is being postponed to a date which will be announced later. This is to allow the men to cast their votes at the 13th Malaysian General Election which falls on the same date with the Conference date.  The working committee would like to apologize for any convenience cause.

6.  SUNDAY  SCHOOL

Please be informed that all Sunday School classes will be cancelled on the 5th of May due to the casting of vote. 

7.  INFANT  BAPTISM  COURSE  IN  MANDARIN

     Venue  :  St. Joseph’s Cathedral        Date :  5th-6th May         Time :  7.30 p.m.

Infants will be baptized on Tuesday, 7th May at 5.30 p.m.  Parents and God parents who wish to have their children baptized are to attend the course.  Please bring along a photocopy of birth certificate and Family Book Register.   For further details, please call Parish office (421455).

9.  FOOD SALES TO RAISE FUND FOR MARRIED COUPLES CONFERENCE

Food sales are being held today (28th April) from 7.00 a.m. until 3.00 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Cathedral compound, and right after the Sunday Mass at the Carmelite’s Chapel, Church of Mater Dei, Lutong, St. Dominic’s Church, Taman Tunku and Permyjaya’s Chapel.  Please come and support generously.
